Hello, I’m Imogen Smith, and I am based in the picturesque Hebden Bridge, nestled in the heart of the West Yorkshire Pennines.
I graduated in 2020 with a degree in Fine Art from Manchester School of Art, where I specialized in portraiture, particularly oil painting. Just before my degree show, the world entered lockdown, giving me an unexpected opportunity to refine my artistic skills. During this time, I was commissioned to paint three beautiful dogs, and from that moment, I knew I had found my true calling.
Since then, I’ve expanded my techniques and explored various mediums, ultimately discovering pastels, which I believe create the most lifelike and vibrant results. The positive feedback from my clients has been incredibly rewarding, and I’ve since had the pleasure of creating over 100 portraits of cherished pets. The festive season proved to be a turning point in my business, marking the beginning of a wonderful and fulfilling journey.
I am passionate about working closely with my clients to capture a truly special image. Whether it’s a young, lively pet or a beloved companion who is no longer with us, I’m honored to help preserve precious memories.
My love for animals and my deep connection to nature, having grown up surrounded by wildlife, are key inspirations behind my work. As a dog owner myself, I understand just how much our pets become integral members of the family. I take great joy in highlighting the unique characteristics that make each pet so special.
